What Club, team, league do you play for?
I play for Pipeline Soccer Club. I am on the Pipeline Soccer Club U18/U19 ECNL and we are playing ECNL this year.
How long have you been in your current club?
I have been playing at Pipeline for about 5 years.
What are your aspirations in your soccer career, and what steps are you taking to achieve your goals?
My aspirations in my soccer career are to ultimately be invited back to a US National Training Center and play for the US National Team. I would also like to get recruited to a Division 1 college and to eventually play in the NWSL.
What are the most important qualities you look for when looking at colleges?
The most important qualities I look for in a college include looking for a college that challenges me academically, as well as athletically. I want to find a college that I feel fits me as a person.
You were called up to the first virtual U17 USYNT camp. Please let us know your experience
My first experience with U17 USYNT Camp was great. We had a zoom meeting with the coach and other players. The coach talked about the characteristics and aspects of a USWNT player. They talked about what they expect from us on and off the field. I hopefully will be attending an actual in person camp soon.
How has Pipeline helped you in your development?
Pipeline has helped my development in many ways. They have helped me become a better player and they have given me the chance to work with some of the best coaches in Maryland. The atmosphere at Pipeline is always positive and challenging. Also, with Pipeline moving to ECNL this year, I've had the chance to play against some of the best teams/players in the US.
What coach has had the biggest impact in your soccer path, and why?
My coach, Santino Quaranta has had the biggest impact on my soccer path. He has high expectations and that drives me to become a better player. He pushes me to take risks on the field. He also puts me in uncomfortable positions on the field to see how I react and adapt.
How is the Spirit helping you reach the next level?
The Spirit is helping me reach the next level by pushing me to become a better player. I love the challenge of being able to train with the coach and players, which is helping me mentally and physically prepare for college athletics, the US National team and the NWSL.
“Finley is an exceptional talent that wants to be great. Her soccer ability is tremendous, but the attitude and work ethic is what truly separates her. We are thrilled with her growth but continually challenge Finley to push and get better.”
-Santino Quaranta, Pipeline Founder
“We are incredibly proud of Finely! To be called into a YNT camp is an amazing accomplishment and one that she thoroughly deserves! I remember coaching Finley in her first season with Pipeline as a member of a very talented U9 boys team I was coaching. Back then she gave the boys a run for their money and you always knew she would be a special player!” - Danny Skelton, Girls ECNL Director
Pipeline was founded in 2011 by Sean Rush, Santino Quaranta, and others interested in forming a soccer club for youth based on professionalism and the highest standards of teaching the game. A core purpose of the club from the outset has been to serve all levels of players and to serve both girls & boys equally. They’ve been part of the Washington Spirit Alliance Program since its inception in 2020. For more information about their programs, please visit: https://pipelinesoccerclub.demosphere-secure.com
